It's Easy to Get Started

Whether you are a first time student or transferring credits from another institution, you'll need to:
  1. Complete the admissions application and pay $20.00 non-refundable fee . The application fee is paid only once, regardless of the number of times you attend the college.
  2. Submit official transcripts: High school or General Education Diploma (GED) or provide prior college transcripts that document completion of program-level English and Mathematics. A high school diploma or GED is required for all associate degree programs and for most diploma and certificate programs. Some diploma and certificate programs do not require completion of high school or GED for program admission.
  3. Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. These transcripts must be received prior to signing up for classes.
  4. Arrange for the placement examination, or show proof of college entrance exam scores. You may exempt the placement exam if you have official transcripts indicating completion of college level general education courses, official SAT or ACT scores, or have acceptable COMPASS/ASSET scores for the selected program of study. A student must request a review and evaluation of a college transcript prior to taking the ASSET/COMPASS placement exam so that transferable credit(s) and program placement status may be determined.
  5. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online if seeking financial assistance at www.fafsa.ed.gov or www.GAcollege411.org. (STC School Code: 005618)
  6. Attend a New Student Orientation.
