Julie Gerbsch
Julie Gerbsch joined Savannah Technical College Economic Development Division February 1, 2010 and serves as the Business and Industry Training Specialist.
Julie began her career in nonprofit management in 1987 as Executive Director of the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon of Greater St. Louis, a 501©3 joint venture between St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. She continued for 18 years in executive positions leading children’s charities including the St. Louis Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities of St. Louis & Metro East and Parent & Child Development Services, Inc. (Savannah). In 2005 she joined the Rapid Change Group as a corporate trainer and client services director.
Currently Julie serves on the Savannah-Chatham Board of Education, the Board of Directors of Youth Futures Authority and Healthy Savannah.
She is also a member of the Governance and Training Task Force for the Council of Urban Boards of Education (Washington, D.C.).
Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois. She obtained her Master of Arts in Professional and Liberal studies at Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2009.

George Cobham
George Cobham has joined the Economic Development Division staff as the Internship Program Leader. George has also served as an adjunct instructor teaching Certified Warehousing and Manufacturing Programs, as well as providing specialized training for various local companies.
As Internship Program Leader, he will lead the collaborative efforts between the college and the business community to provide students an opportunity for on-the-job training. This training will allow eligible trainees to develop entry-level skills in their chosen occupations while gaining valuable experience before graduating.
He recently retired after 30 years in Nuclear Operations with Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, Inc.

from Savannah Technical College and he has also completed The Executive Program at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.

Debbie Wheeless
Debbie Wheeless of Pooler is the new Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Economic Development.
She has more than 12 years of experience in the Technical College System of Georgia having served in a range of administrative positions at Flint River Technical College and Griffin Technical College.
Debbie has served as Executive Assistant to the President and as an administrative assistant in Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Institutional Advancement.
Prior to joining TCSG, she was a teacher’s aide in the Thomaston-Upson County School system.
Debbie attended Mercer University and has a diploma in Information Office Technology from Flint River Technical College.

Economic Development Division Announces New Staff
SAVANNAH - Three new professionals have joined the college's Economic Development Division. The division is responsible for workforce development, assessment, corporate training, professional continuing education and adult literacy. It also includes Early Start Child Care Resource & Referral, a state-funded grant activity for early childhood care and education.
The Economic Development Division of Savannah Technical College is located at the Crossroads Technology Campus, 190 Crossroads Parkway off Interstate 95 in the Crossroads Business Park.
