Our Tutors
CRLA Certification
The Learning Enrichment Center's tutoring program is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) at Levels I, II, and III. CRLA is an international organization representing student-oriented professionals active in the fields of learning assistance, developmental education, and tutorial services at the college level. Its most vital function and overall purpose is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, methods, and information to improve student learning and to facilitate the professional growth of its methods. Our staff earn national certifications as they progress through our training curriculum and accrue direct experience working with students.
All tutors are eligible to earn CRLA certificates as Regular (Level I), Advanced (Level II), or Masters (Level III) tutors. Certification is also endorsed by the National Association for Developmental Education (NADE). Thus, we encourage all of our tutors to earn CRLA certification, as it will further their professional development and contribute in assisting students in academic achievement. Tutoring is a supplement to teaching.
