All students who wish to apply for financial aid assistance must complete a financial aid application:

To qualify for federal and state aid - complete the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

To apply for Georgia state aid only - complete the GA application at http://www.gacollege411.org/

Savannah Technical College (STC) School Code is 005618. This code will be needed when completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.

Beginning Spring 2012 semester, STC will participate in the Federal Direct Stafford Loan programs.

STC does particpate in the Georgia Student Finance Commission Student Access Loan program.

The Federal Pell Grant and Federal Direct Stafford Loan programs help pay for Associate Degree programs as well as Department of Education approved Diploma and Certificate programs.

The Georgia HOPE Scholarship will provide partial tuition assistance for those who qualify and are enrolled in Associate Degree programs only.

The Georgia HOPE Grant will provide partial tuition assistance for those who qualify and are enrolled in Diploma or Certificate programs.

Students are responsible for paying all mandatory fees plus books and supplies. The HOPE programs no longer cover these costs.

The Georgia HOPE GED Voucher is a "one time" voucher used for any program level (degree, diploma, or certificate). Completion of the financial aid application is not required to use this voucher.

The Georgia HOPE Grant is available to any person who has been a resident of the State of Georgia for at least 12 months prior to first day of class and is not in default of any student loans.

Individuals on active duty military and their spouses are eligible for the HOPE Grant, if enrolled in a Diploma or Certificate program.

New students must complete all admissions requirements before financial aid eligibility can be determined.
