Tutoring for Exit Exam Retest

 

If a student does not meet the score required for the area tested on the COMPASS exit exam for Learning Support courses, he/she will be allowed to receive remediation and re-test using the following procedures:

 

1.     The student must report to the office of Dean of General Studies to receive the “Request for Diagnostic Testing and Tutoring” permission form.

2.     The student must take the COMPASS diagnostic test at the Career Center.

3.     The student must report to the Learning Enrichment Center (LEC), (Student Enrichment Center Building, Room 8103), and bring the COMPASS diagnostic test results and the “Request for Diagnostic Testing and Tutoring” form with them.

 

Note:    THE STUDENT MUST REPORT TO THE SEC WITHIN 10 DAYS OF TAKING THE EXIT EXAM.   NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

4.     The LEC Tutor Coordinator will assign a tutor to assist the student in the weak areas identified by the COMPASS diagnostic test.

a.     The student can receive tutoring until midterm of the next quarter before he/she can retest.

b.     Retesting must be done at midterm.

c.     The LEC will send documentation to the Dean when the student is "test ready".
