Students applying for admission to Savannah Technical College must complete the required placement test, if not otherwise exempt from testing.

The COMPASS exam assesses the student's skills in Reading, Writing, Pre-Algebra and Algebra. This exam is computerized and is untimed. Testers may work at their own pace.

The Asset exam is similar to the COMPASS exam in the skill areas it assesses. This exam, however, is written and the tester is timed. The Asset exam is not standard and is only given under special circumstances.

Testing Requirements
  • Certificate or Diploma Programs - Reading, Writing, Pre-Algebra
  • Degree Programs - Reading, Writing, Pre-Algebra, & Algebra
Testing Schedule (Dates & Times are subject to change)
  • Tuesday & Thursday - 8:30 a.m. (Liberty Campus)
  • Friday - 8:30 a.m. (AEC)
Additional tests may be inserted during the month, including evening tests.
