The Early Childhood Program Administration Technical Certificate of Credit provides formal early childhood care and education training and instruction. The program prepares students to assume the responsibilities for an Early Childhood program’s management. This includes meeting State licensing requirements, budgeting, funding, emergency and policy manual preparation, documentation and record keeping and personnel management. This TCC meets Bright From the Start’s requirement for a 40 Hour Director’s Training as part of the application process for licensure of an Early Childhood Center. All three courses are offered online. The program also serves as a bridge to the Early Childhood Care and Education Diploma and Associate Degree programs.

Prospective students must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Meet minimum program admission requirements on the Asset or Compass placement test or take required developmental courses
  • Pass a Criminal background check for their employer/volunteer site
  • Te be employed as a child care provider or teacher, candidate must be at least 18 years of age
  • To be employed as a Center Director or Family Home Child Care Provider, the candidate must be at least 21 years of age
The associate degree, diploma and most TCC's require the student to work in the classrooms with children.  A criminal background check that indicates an individual has certain felony convictions and/or misdemeanors may prohibit completers from being employed or volunteering in licensed child care facilities or in schools.  Students must follow their placement site's requirements for background checks.
